THE SANTA CLAUSE will be shown as part of the Home for the Holidays celebration at the Rialto Square Theatre on Saturday, December 2, 2017 at 1:00 pm. This movie is being sponsored by Sharon Stemke of Country Financial.

In this Christmas classic, divorced dad Scott (Tim Allen) has custody of his son (Eric Lloyd) on Christmas Eve. After he accidentally kills a man in a Santa suit, they are magically transported to the North Pole, where an elf explains that Scott must take Santa’s place before the next Christmas arrives. Scott thinks he’s dreaming, but over the next several months he gains weight and grows an inexplicably white beard. Maybe that night at the North Pole wasn’t a dream after all — and maybe Scott has a lot of work to do.

The film, directed by John Pasquin, is the first installment in The Santa Clause trilogy. This was Pasquin and Allen’s first movie collaboration after they both worked together on the TV series Home Improvement. Pasquin and Allen would later work again on the films Jungle 2 Jungle and Joe Somebody, and on the TV show Last Man Standing. The film was followed by two sequels, The Santa Clause 2 (2002) and The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause (2006). Experience the magic with this classic Christmas movie.
