TAJMO WINS BIG AT 2018 BLUES MUSIC AWARDS

(Nashville, Tenn. – May 11, 2018) Singer, songwriter, guitarist and modern day Blues and Americana artist, Keb’ Mo’ was among the list of big winners at the 39th Annual Blues Music Awards, which took place May 10 in Memphis at the Cook Convention Center. Keb’ Mo’, alongside Blues Hall of Famer Taj Mahal, was awarded Album of the Year and Contemporary Blues Album of the Year for their first-ever collaboration project, TajMo. Keb’ also took home the title of Contemporary Blues Male Artist of The Year.

The awards, which are presented by the Memphis-based Blues Foundation, are universally recognized as the highest accolade afforded blues music performers. The ceremony is the premier event for blues professionals, musicians, and fans from all over the world.

Released on May 5, 2017, via Concord Records, TajMo is a cross-generational collaboration that merges the two artists’ distinctive voices and guitar styles. The project, which won Best Contemporary Blues Album at the 60th Annual GRAMMY Awards earlier this year, features guest appearances by Sheila E., Joe Walsh, Lizz Wright and Bonnie Raitt.

RIALTO SQUARE THEATRE ANNOUNCES THE #TBTUESDAY SUMMER MOVIE SERIES

The new movie series, #TBTuesday Summer Movie Series at the Rialto Square Theatre, is a nod to our Vaudeville movie palace past, and will feature past and recently past movies for the entire family, shown on the retro movie screen by the new projector, generously donated by the Rialto Square Volunteers, inside the beautiful Rialto Square Theatre.

Tickets are $5 each, and will be available day-of at the Rialto Square Theatre Box Office. Doors will open at 6p, all showings start at 7p. All seating will be General Admission—first come, first serve. Cash and credit will be accepted for payment. Bar and concessions will be available for purchase.

DOKKEN AND LITA FORD ROCK THE RIALTO SQUARE THEATRE ON APRIL 20TH

Dokken exploded out of the boiling hard rock/heavy metal scene in Los Angeles in the early 1980s. Their breakout hit album, Breaking the Chains, set the stage for Dokken to become one of the most dominant creative and commercial force in the world of melodic hard rock.

A British born rocker who grew up on the streets of L.A., Lita Ford is considered one of the most influential female representatives of the rock genre. She was a founding member of The Runaways, one of the first girl groups who broke down the gender barriers of the punk era, as well as the male-dominated world of rock music.

Very special guest, Downtread, will be joining the lineup for the Joliet show. Described as “full contact rock-n-roll,” Downtread specializes in aggressive riffs, titanic drums and ferociously catchy songwriting.
