The Brian Setzer Orchestra’s 14th Annual Christmas Rocks! Tour will kick off the season on November 13th at 7:30pm. In 1990, Stray Cats frontman Brian Setzer founded a new orchestra to focus on the burgeoning swing revival movement in the United States. Decades later, the wildly energetic Brian Setzer Orchestra still delivers its electrifying combination of rockabilly, blues, and swing to adoring audiences around the world. Rock in the holidays with Brian Setzer Orchestra’s 14th Annual Christmas Rocks! Tour. Tickets go on sale August 11th.
Celebrate the Season
Celebrate the Season, a social gathering and cocktail party, will take place on Monday, November 20th from 5:30pm – 9:00pm. What a great way to bring everyone together to light up the holidays. Enjoy delicious treats and cocktails while listening to holiday favorites played by local artists. On this evening ComEd will light up the Rialto Marquee for the season and guests will enjoy the beautiful Rialto Tree lighting in the magnificent Rotunda. This year the Rialto Tree is being sponsored by Busey Bank. Tickets to Celebrate the Season are $45 and the event is sponsored by Jay and Lori Bergman. Cash bar and tickets go on sale August 11th at noon.
Lights of Love
The Joliet Area Community Lights of Love tree lighting ceremony, sponsored by Kurtz Ambulance and Emergency Services, will be held on Wednesday, November 22nd at 6pm. The ceremony is a time to honor and remember family and friends during this special holiday season. Contact Joliet Area Community Hospice for more information.
Teddy Bear Tea
Friday, November 24th is the ever popular Teddy Bear Tea. Young and old alike will enjoy this special brunch featuring delicious food and fun complete with a special appearance by St. Nick and a keepsake Rialto bear for each child. The event will include Santa’s Workshop on the stage and is sponsored by ExxonMobil. There will be a seating at 9:30am and Noon. Reservations are needed and fill up quickly so get your tickets before all spaces are gone. Tickets are $25 for adults and $22.50 for children 12 and under. Tickets go on sale August 18th at 10am.

Experience Home Alone, a classic Christmas movie, in the beautiful Rialto Square Theatre Auditorium. An eight-year-old trouble-maker must protect his home from a pair of burglars when he is accidentally left home alone by his family during Christmas vacation. The movie will be shown on Friday, November 24th at 3:00pm. General Admission tickets are $5.
Von Heidecke’s Chicago Festival Ballet’s The Nutcracker
Sunday, November 26th is Von Heidecke’s Chicago Festival Ballet’s The Nutcracker at 2pm. This holiday favorite fairytale is perfect for the entire family. The magical production features lavish costumes, a growing Christmas tree, a battle between mice and soldiers, a journey through the land of whirling snowflakes and a joyous visit to the Kingdom of the Sugar Plum Fairy. Movies at the Rialto: The Santa Clause
Saturday, December 2nd the Santa Clause Movie will be shown at 1pm. Divorced dad Scott (Tim Allen) has custody of his son (Eric Lloyd) on Christmas Eve. After he accidentally kills a man in a Santa suit, they are magically transported to the North Pole, where an elf explains that Scott must take Santa’s place before the next Christmas arrives. Scott thinks he’s dreaming, but over the next several months he gains weight and grows an inexplicably white beard. Maybe that night at the North Pole wasn’t a dream after all — and maybe Scott has a lot of work to do. General Admission tickets are $5.

But after the Grinch conspires to deprive the Who’s of their favorite holiday by sneaking into town on Christmas Eve to steal everything associated with the holiday, he learns that the spirit of Christmas goes much deeper than tinsel and toys. Iconic guitarist, songwriter, vocalist and three-time Grammy-Award winner BRIAN SETZER and his 19-piece THE BRIAN SETZER ORCHESTRA have announced their 14th annual “Christmas Rocks! Tour,” presented for the second consecutive year by SiriusXM.BRIAN SETZER belongs to an elite group of artists who’ve had four super successful phases of his career, from the Stray Cats, to solo albums, The Rockabilly Riot to BSO. The BSO show seamlessly encompasses music from all these phases. “The music I play in the big band is rock n’ roll with a jazz influence,” says SETZER. “What keeps it fresh is the quality of the players in the band. Also a big part of keeping the big band fresh is the arrangements; writing the arrangement for 18-19 people is like writing a song within a song. It makes the song you might have heard many times sound new again.”
For the past two years, THE BRIAN SETZER ORCHESTRA has had a strong presence on SiriusXM during the holidays. The band performed exclusive invitation-only concerts for SiriusXM listeners in New York City in 2015 and 2016, which aired on SiriusXM’s Outlaw Country and Holly channels. ABOUT BRIAN SETZER:
Iconic guitarist, songwriter, vocalist and 3-time Grammy-award-winner BRIAN SETZER is a “Musician’s Musician” credited with continually taking chances with innovative and daring musical styles. Setzer is widely credited for taking two forgotten genres, rockabilly and swing, adding his own blend of gunpowder and rockin style, and completely reinventing and single-handedly resurrecting them in the process.
