Rialto Square Theatre is thrilled to announce our 2018-2019 School Matinee Series lineup, made possible by a generous donation from Midland States Bank. This series provides fun and educational experiences for school-age children, while fostering a love of live theatre and the opportunity to visit the beautiful Rialto Square Theatre. “Throughout the year we, we strive to find ways to connect with local schools. Through our student matinee series we hope to supplement arts education curriculum and foster a love and appreciation for the performing arts in tomorrow’s audiences,” Executive Director of the Rialto Square Theatre, Val Devine said. “I am particularly excited about this season’s lineup as I think it’s the best one yet!”
We are thrilled to offer an “Early Bird Special” for educators working on curriculum for next school year. Anyone who reserves their tickets before May 31st, 2018, will receive “last year’s pricing,” just $6 per ticket. Starting June 1st, prices will increase to $7 per ticket.

Dokken exploded out of the boiling hard rock/heavy metal scene in Los Angeles in the early 1980s. Their breakout hit album, Breaking the Chains, set the stage for Dokken to become one of the most dominant creative and commercial force in the world of melodic hard rock.
A British born rocker who grew up on the streets of L.A., Lita Ford is considered one of the most influential female representatives of the rock genre. She was a founding member of The Runaways, one of the first girl groups who broke down the gender barriers of the punk era, as well as the male-dominated world of rock music.
Very special guest, Downtread, will be joining the lineup for the Joliet show. Described as “full contact rock-n-roll,” Downtread specializes in aggressive riffs, titanic drums and ferociously catchy songwriting.

TajMo: The Taj Mahal & Keb’ Mo’ Band brings together Blues titans Taj Mahal and Keb’ Mo’ to share the stage with their bands for an exciting night of live music, performing songs from their long-anticipated, and Grammy Award-winning collaborative album TajMo, available now on Concord Records.
While the two have known and influenced each other for decades, and Taj played a key role in Keb’s first record deal, TajMo marks the first proper collaboration between Taj Mahal and Keb’ Mo.’ The album was self-produced by the duo and was mixed by Grammy Award-winner Ross Hogarth and mastered by Grammy Award-winner Richard Dodd. The 11-song set includes covers of John Mayer and The Who, as well as 6 original songs.

Engelbert Humperdinck will bring his unique sound, and a career spanning nearly 50 years, to the Rialto Square Theatre on April 21 as part of his Engelbert Humperdinck: The Man I Want To Be Tour!
Engelbert has generated sales in excess of 140 million records, including 64 gold albums and 35 platinum, four Grammy nominations, a Golden Globe, and stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, Las Vegas Walk of Fame, and Leicester Walk of Fame.
The iconic musician exploded on to the music scene in the sixties with The Beatles and the Rolling Stones. He became great friends with Elvis Presley and the two legends often performed each other’s songs. His first single in the charts was “Release Me,” which went into the Guinness Book of Records for achieving 56 consecutive weeks on the charts. It was No. 1 in 11 countries.
